Found during Old Home Days — our town’s summer celebration of heritage and hearth — this 1960s Avon Crystalique powder dish rested among the treasures of a church fair table. Pressed glass stars and winter-bright facets caught the light like frost on a windowpane. Made for the vanities of another era, it feels right at home again here in the stillroom, brought back to the farmhouse and filled, once more, with soft powder and a quieter kind of ritual.

A Stillroom Powder, Rooted in Memory

Inside this mid-century dish rests Lavender Dragée — a handmade stillroom powder inspired by the perfumed powders of the early 1900s. Lavender and almond are folded together until they settle into a sweet, nostalgic calm. The scent is light, familiar, and comforting — like linen closets warmed by the woodstove, rose-paper drawers, and the hush of an early winter morning.

Talc-free, finely milled, and made in small batches here at the farm, each jar carries the feeling of careful work and quiet intention.
