Dried Red Rose Buds & Petals: Organic Loose Rose Buds

$ 3.00

Farm Fresh dried organic Red Rose Buds and Petals, ours are open and closed buds with the base attached. Some loose petals are in there too. These are small dime to quarter size with a deep red color. Just beautiful. I have used these with our dried rose hips as a natural dye and liked the results.

Very pretty for potpourri, as a wedding toss, in a sachet, favors, soap and other bath products. A customer of ours recently sent me some heavenly scented bubbling bath bombs with our dried roses in it. I couldn’t wait to try it and instantly fell in love with it.

{Some measurements for you…}
Industry standards are that dried roses are bought and sold by the pound, and we do the same. You need to know what you are buying. I hate seeing herbs sold by the cup and even if I am in love with some at the Farmer’s Market probably won’t purchase them because I don’t know exactly what I am bringing home with me. What exactly is a cup anyway? A measuring cup, Grandma’s tea cup or Auntie’s old Tupperware cup…I don’t know your guess is as good as mine… Are they packed in there or loosely tossed in that “cup”?

Each crop will vary from harvest to harvest so a “cup” from mid summer will not be the same amount as a “cup” from the fall. Even from the same harvest the top of the bin by nature being lighter and fluffier will be a larger volume amount than that at the bottom.

How does one adjust for that in terms of what to ship and what to charge? The answer is to use the industry standard of weight. I want to know what I am buying and I want the same for you too.

Here is a rough idea for you to judge by, when in doubt-always order more.
1 ounce= about 1.5 cups of dried rose buds. Will mostly fill a 3x5 bag.
½ pound= 8 ounces = about 12 cups.
1 pound= 16 ounces = about 24 cups.
