Birch Polypore Mushroom – Air-Dried Crafting Fungus | Nature’s Relics – The Curiosity Cabinet
Ready for crafting, ready for wonder.
These naturally foraged, air-dried birch polypore mushrooms are harvested from fallen birch in our surrounding New England woodlands — responsibly gathered, then set aside to dry in the stillroom until ready for use.
Known for their lightweight structure and chalky texture, birch polypores are a favorite in nature-based artwork, hand-painted forest talismans, traditional crafting, and even as natural canvas for woodburning or inkwork.
Each piece is unique — shaped by the tree it grew on and the season it formed. Sizes vary slightly but are generally 4" to 6" across, with a pale ivory tone and soft, curved top.
