A Holiday Keepsake for the Vanity Table
The Holiday Find
A beautiful Early American pressed-glass powder dish — sturdy, sparkling, and timeless. This Anchor Hocking classic, often called the “Star of David” pattern, carries the quiet charm of winter mornings: frosted windows, soft bedroom light, and a small ritual kept close at the vanity table.
Found on a bright, cold day in Maine during a family letterboxing ramble near the Wiggly Bridge, it waited on a sun-warmed shelf in a tiny antique shop tucked off the road. A simple day together — laughter, wandering, and a sweet discovery now ready for its next home.
Each piece in this series is restored by hand and paired with our signature Lavender Dragée powder — a sugared lavender and almond blend recalling the softly perfumed vanities of the early 1900s.
A Stillroom Powder, Rooted in Memory
Beside this Star of David glass jar you’ll find the Stillroom Archive set — the Lavender Dragée powder tucked safely inside its sealed Archive Coin Envelope. Each envelope is labeled with a black-and-white DYMO field number, wrapped with twine and a small brass fastener, and paired with the front label, the three-fold story card, and the printed winter fox-and-fern seal. The powder itself is kept tidy in a protective zip-top pouch within the envelope, preserving freshness and keeping everything perfectly contained until you choose to fill the dish.
Lavender Dragée is our handmade dusting powder inspired by early 1900s vanity tables — lavender warmed with sugared almond, soft as rose-papered drawers and morning light across an old quilt.
Mixed to order in the mountain-house stillroom, where winter work is slow and thoughtful. Finely milled for a velvety finish; fragranced with a soft, close-to-you warmth.
The Puff
A handmade puff rests inside — soft, full, and meant to be used. A light press across the skin after bathing leaves just a whisper of fragrance and the calm that comes from taking a slow moment for yourself. It’s the same simple pleasure our grandmothers knew well — the hush of powder and the soft glow of morning light.
