A spontaneous botanical blend from the Summer Kitchen — hand-mixed fresh with whatever the stillroom calls forth that morning.

Each day begins the same way: jars opened, petals poured into shallow bowls, herbs gathered from the drying rack. There is no fixed recipe. No measured formula. Only intuition and a table scattered with lavender, petals, pods, seeds, and whatever the season has offered.

Today’s Blend is the result.

Always fragrant. Always fresh. Always slightly different.

One day it may carry rose and calendula. Another, cedar and clover. A touch of anise. A handful of dried blossoms from the cutting garden. Lightly misted with seasonal essential oils to hold the scent.

No two batches are alike — and that is exactly the point.

Stillroom Notes

This blend began as something I would tuck into outgoing parcels — a small scoop of whatever had just been made. It often disappeared before I could set it aside. Now it rests on the shelf in its own right: a record of the morning, captured in dried petals and herbs.
