Organic Whole Rose Hips – Loose Dried Herb | Rosa canina | High Vitamin C Tea & Old-Fashioned Folk Tonic
Plump, wrinkled, and packed with nutrition—these organic whole rose hips are a traditional favorite for immune support, seasonal syrups, and rustic herbal tea blends.
Herbal Overview
These whole rose hips (Rosa canina), sometimes called rose haws, are the fruit of the Dog Rose—a climbing wild rose native to Europe and naturalized here in the U.S. Ours are organically grown or wild-harvested, then gently dried to preserve their vibrant color and naturally high Vitamin C content.
Each hip is about ½ inch in size, deep red, slightly wrinkled, and left whole, making them perfect for long, slow infusions, traditional syrups, oxymels, or grinding fresh for custom tea blends. Their tart, earthy flavor pairs well with hibiscus, elderberry, orange peel, or cinnamon.
Naturally caffeine-free, nutrient-rich, and steeped in tradition, rose hips are a year-round herbal staple, especially during the colder months.

Stillroom Notes
Whole rose hips are a throwback to simpler times when teas were simmered on the stove and winter remedies came from the pantry. I like to brew mine slowly, often in the evening, and let them steep overnight. In the morning, I strain the infusion and sip it warm with a bit of honey. It’s as comforting as it is nourishing.
