    Notes

Also known, as Pot Marigold a well-known and well-loved perennial herb/flower. At least around here, it’s a perennial. Known as a skin-loving herb this flower finds its way into many bath and beauty products around here. From adding to the bathwater for a tub tea, our potpourri blends, brewing tea, in salves and lotions, to sitting pretty fresh in a vase.

Used for Calendula Tea, Calendula Tincture, Calendula Salve no wonder it's a time-tested favorite among herbalists across the world.

    Recipe

Natural highlighting Calendula hair rinse for red and strawberry colored hair.

1 ounce fresh dried organic Calendula petals
    2 cups hot water.

    Instructions:

Add loose Calendula to a medium-sized bowl and pour hot (not boiling) water over the herb. Allow to steep covered overnight. In the morning or next day strain petals from infusion and compost used petals. Warm Calendula infusion to LUKEWARM (you can put your finger in it comfortably---not too hot!) and soak hair with it. Let sit 5-10 minutes with a warm towel wrapped around your hair. Rinse.

BE CAREFUL with the temp of your infusion so you don’t burn your scalp. This recipe is only good for 24 hours after that toss it out because “nastiness” will start to grow in it.
