Susan’s Folk Art
Vintage hand-painted keepsakes — crafted with love, rooted in history, ready for their next home.
In the late 1980s and early 90s, Susan and her husband built both their family home and their creative life together. He cut the wood in his cellar workshop, and she painted, stitched, and brought each piece to life with color and charm. From tole-painted daisies on salvaged wood to cheerful moose dolls and toy trains, their work is the kind of folk art that carries warmth from one home to another.
Today, Chuck and I feel the same calling—to work side by side, to create with intention, and to honor what came before us. This collection is our way of passing Susan’s pieces into new hands that will cherish them.

Stories in Stitches
Among Susan’s most beloved works are her dolls and animals—stitched by hand, dressed in tiny details, and always with a sense of humor and heart. This moose and calf remind us that folk art isn’t just decoration—it’s a reflection of family, home, and the joy of creating together.

Vintage Hand-Painted Wooden Angel Folk Art Pair
These hand-painted wooden angels are a tender glimpse into Susan MacDonald’s artistry and the spirit she poured into her craft. Cut and shaped by her husband, then lovingly painted in Susan’s familiar folk art style, each angel carries its own quiet grace — double-sided so they can be turned and displayed from any angle. I first found them resting together on the mantel, their trumpets lifted as though announcing both welcome and celebration. For me, they speak of Susan and her husband working side by side, the same way Chuck and I do — a generational rhythm of creating, of making beauty with our hands, and of leaving behind objects that carry story and warmth. Passing these angels along feels like carrying forward that responsibility — a way to keep her voice, her brushstrokes, and her love for home alive in the spaces they land next.
