This alabaster powder dish waited quietly in the most unexpected place — a barn of oddities, filled with crystals, old taxidermy, herbal remedies, and the soft scent of dried wood. In the far corner beneath a back window, on a small table piled with attic treasures, it sat as though it had simply been set down decades ago and forgotten. Its hand-carved stone, rosy and cool to the touch, and its gilt metal rim caught the pale afternoon light.

Carried home from that Brimfield North ramble — Daisy beside me, my sisters and niece wandering the booths outside — this 1960s dish returns to the Stillroom to be filled once more with quiet ritual.
