The Avon Crystalique powder dish is a mid-century classic — pressed glass with clear weight and star-cut facets that catch the light without fuss. Made for everyday vanities, it is sturdy, generous, and quietly beautiful, with the kind of presence that feels instantly known.

These are dishes we continue to seek out — not for rarity, but for usefulness. When a piece earns a place here, it is because it does the work well.

This is the dish I once carried up the side of the mountain on snowshoes, packed carefully for a two-week winter stay. I chose it because it could be trusted — solid in the hand, not fragile, and too familiar to leave behind. It mattered to have powder there, as it always had.

Mixed to order in the mountain-house stillroom, where  work is slow and thoughtful. Finely milled for a velvety finish; fragranced with a soft, close-to-you warmth.

The Stillroom Powder — Lavender Dragée

Inside the dish rests Lavender Dragée, a finely milled, talc-free dusting powder inspired by the softly perfumed powders of the early 1900s. Lavender and almond are folded together until they settle into a gentle, sugared calm — familiar, comforting, and close to the skin.

Blended in small batches at the farm, this is a powder rooted in memory and meant for everyday use.

The Puff

A handmade crochet puff rests inside — soft, full, and meant to be used. A light press after bathing leaves only a trace of fragrance and the quiet pleasure of a ritual long kept.
