Collected in Winter · Rooted in the Stillroom Tradition

A Winter Vessel — For the Last Weeks of the Season

Across New England, modest stoneware crocks once kept flour, salt, and honey near the hearth — objects chosen for usefulness, not display. Gathered over several winters and reclaimed for the Stillroom, each vintage crock now holds Pressed Balsam, a winter dusting powder scented with evergreen resin, soft smoke, and quiet pine.

This is a working vessel — meant to be opened, used, and kept close through the final weeks of winter. As the light returns, it offers one last breath of forest and hearth before the season clears.

Not ornamental. Not hurried. Just winter, held well.

·  Mixed to order in the mountain-house stillroom, where winter work is slow and thoughtful. Finely milled for a velvety finish; fragranced with a soft, close-to-you warmth.

  • Covering: Cheesecloth and muslin layered beneath the lid.
  • Puff: One hand-sewn fabric powder puff, made years ago by a neighbor and kept wrapped until now.
    • Puff color chosen from peach or lavender
