A Winter Keepsake for the Vanity Table
A graceful vintage pressed-glass powder jar topped with an Art Deco-era brass lid — simple, elegant, and quietly storied.
Discovered in a small vintage shop along the harbor in Mystic, Connecticut, this dish once belonged to the shopkeeper’s great aunt. On a golden August afternoon, over tea and the hum of trolling boats returning to shore, she passed it on with joy — certain its next home would feel how special it truly is.
Each piece in this series is restored by hand and paired with our signature Lavender Dragée powder — a sugared lavender and almond blend that recalls the softly perfumed vanities of the early 1900s.
· Mixed to order in the mountain-house stillroom, where winter work is slow and thoughtful. Finely milled for a velvety finish; fragranced with a soft, close-to-you warmth.
A Stillroom Powder, Rooted in Memory
Inside this glass dish rests Lavender Dragée — a handmade body powder inspired by the fine perfumed powders of the early 1900s. Lavender and almond are folded together until they settle into a gentle, sugared calm. The scent is light and familiar, a reminder of linen closets, rose-paper drawers, and the soft air of an old bedroom at dawn.
Finely milled, talc-free, and made in small batches here at the farm, each jar carries that same feeling of careful work and quiet intention.
The Puff
A handmade puff rests inside — soft, full, and meant to be used. A light press across the skin after bathing leaves just a trace of fragrance and the calm that comes with taking a slow moment for yourself. It’s the same simple pleasure our grandmothers knew well — the hush of powder, the scent that lingers in the morning light.
