Make your vintage kitchen a bit more special...
A rare find in my hunting travels uncovered this delightful vintage German Lusterware canister set. It will fit in perfectly with today's vintage/cottage décor with it's mustard tops and country white background.
This set features 6 canisters with lids and a wall hanging salt cellar. Made from fine porcelain during war time Germany (1920-1940), the top and lid color is the now back in style mustard with a border of navy blue accented with lilac colored dots below are fine pink roses and pearl yellow flowers. The main body of the canisters is the ever popular vintage white featuring each containers contents in gold script lettering then further accented with hand painted black striping. Truly one of the prettier patterns, timeless designs, and trendy color scheme from Mepoco of this time period I have seen. Manufacturing mold #2065
All have the maker & artist marks.
Measurements:
Canisters without lid approx. 6" x 3.5" square ( 4" across the top) with lid approx. 8".
Hanging Salt Cellar 4 1/8" to top of canister and 6 1/8" to top of back hanger. Approx. 5" wide across the front and 4 1/4" on the sides.
Rice canister- has a very small chip on the left side top edge. A small chip inside the cover.
Sugar canister- has what looks like a chip but actually is a mold bubble on the front top edge. Also another very small chip in the back corner. Lid has a minor inside chip.
Coffee canister- in perfect vintage condition.
Tea canister- in perfect vintage condition.
Oatmeal canister- in perfect vintage condition.
Flour canister- in perfect vintage condition.
Hanging Salt Cellar- a small chip on the front rim and a hairline crack inside the cover on the front edge. It is not at all noticeable.
All pieces show normal shelf wear on the bottom of feet. Colors are bright and bold and the gold gilding is in very nice condition. The finish on all pieces show no discoloration or crazing.
