A True Story from the Farm

Calendula holds a special place in my heart—and not just because of its beauty and benefits. One day, as I was carefully cutting calendula blooms to press in a book for our VIP Circle, something unexpected happened. As I reached for a flower, a small garter snake uncurled itself from the plant, hiding among the leaves, and bite!—it nipped me! Startled, I jumped back, t and the little snake wiggled off to the other side of the flower bed, as if nothing had happened. I laughed, the cat jumped and I moved on shaking my head at the adventure that came with harvesting such a magical plant. It was a reminder that nature is full of surprises, even in the most serene moments.

Perfect for:

A Simple Herbal Hair Rinse for Red & Strawberry-Toned Hair
Calendula’s bright petals make for a beautiful, natural hair treatment. This rinse enhances red and strawberry-colored hair, giving it a vibrant, healthy shine.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce fresh dried Organic Calendula Petals
  • 2 cups hot water (not boiling)

Instructions:

  1. Place the dried Calendula petals in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Pour hot (but not boiling) water over the petals and cover the bowl. Let it steep overnight.
  3. The next day, strain the petals from the infusion and compost them.
  4. Warm the Calendula infusion to lukewarm (comfortable enough to put your finger in, but not too hot!).
  5. Soak your hair with the infusion and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, wrapping a warm towel around your head for extra comfort.
  6. Rinse thoroughly.

Important Note: This rinse is best used fresh—discard any remaining infusion after 24 hours as it may begin to grow unwanted bacteria.
